Jensen and B. Atkinson will from April 2006
fulfil the role of silent partners, with G.
Oelofse and M. Riley being responsible for
the operational health of Mid East.
Mr.
Gary Oelofse holds a National Higher Diploma
in Electrical Engineering and a Diploma
in Project Management. He gained extensive
experience in quantitive risk assessment
and major hazard analysis while working
for a large gas company. Here he also obtained
considerable experience in the compilation
and application of standards in the gasses
industry. He has served on International
Major Hazard Review Committees for the formulation
of company and industrial standards. He
also represented the company on various
other technical committees, including LPGas
Association, SAQCC (LPGI), The Compressed
Gas Association, various SABS working committees
and the Engineering Council of SA. He served
on a global team of experts in the setting
of LPG standards for the industry and, has
been involved in the compiling of unit standards
in keeping with the current government initiatives
for a National Qualifications Framework
(NQF). Mr. Oelofse is also registered as
an installation electrician with the Department
of Labour.
Mr.
Mark Riley has 13 years business experience
through the Edcon Group, both in a store
and head office environment. His last position
held was that of Planning Executive, reporting
into the CEO of Edgars, one of the chains
within the Edcon fold. He has gained invaluable
business experience through the planning
side of the organisation, and has attended
many business courses and programmes. The
Merchant Development Programme and Retailer
Development Programme are highly recognized
within the retail industry, and carry certification
equivalent to parts of an MBA. He has received
certification for excellent performance
within the retail industry, and received
a citation for the effort involved with
turning poor performing departments into
profitable ones.
